For more than 25 years, Bill Shontz has been touring North America, Canada and Australia and  has gained international recognition from his 15 years as the Shontz of “RosenShontz”.  He has appeared at such notable places as The White House, at Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox, the Kennedy Center, John Anson Ford Theater in LA, The Regis and Kathy Lee Show, The Today Show and even Disneyland
 Bill is the National Spokesperson for EARTHWATCH as well as the Spokesperson for Vermont Green –Up.

His credits include 12 CD’s and three videos which have won over three dozen national awards for quality recordings. 

He is CEO and founder of this website business, the “Children’s Music Hall of Fame”. www.childrensmusichalloffame.com.  It is a service based, designed to provide age appropriate music downloads, albums, custom design CD’s, school fundraiser custom CD’s, an educator’s newsletter www.chimenews.com  and much more, while being totally child safe and family and educator friendly.

                          BIOGRAPHY 
Bill Shontz, a former music professor at The University of Illinois, Ohio State University, Muskingum College
and Bluffton College,  is trained in classical clarinet and received a Master's Degree in flute,
clarinet, saxophone and recorder from Ohio State University. 
He was Solo Clarinet with the Ohio State Orchestra and Concert Band and with the University of Illinois Orchestra
and Wind Ensemble.  He has also performed with big bands and jazz ensembles. 
As one critic lauded, "He is a Master of Woodwinds (literally)."
For twenty years Bill was one half of the Nationally acclaimed duo, RosenShontz and has entertained millions
of children and their parents throughout the country with his imaginative and witty style of music and humor.
His first solo album, "AnimalTales",was acclaimed by Billboard Magazine  as "...the best new kids release of 1993".
Other awards Bill has been given for "Animal Tales" are: 1993 Parent’s Choice - Gold Award 1993
National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA) - "Gold Award" 1993 Film Advisory BoardÕs -
"Award of Excellence"
American Library Association Award Parents Magazine - Parents Prize 1993 -
"The Best in Kids Entertainment"
Bill's recording, "Teddy Bear's Greatest Hits" won the 1998 Parent's Choice Gold Award for excellence
in children's entertainment, the NAPPA Gold Award and the 1998 Children's Music Web Awards
in the Best Music for Young Children Category. His latest release,
"The Day I Read A Book", is designed to encourage children and families in their love of books and reading.
Bill is a spokesperson for the environmental groups EARTHWATCH and  Green Up Vermont. 
He is also on the roster of Vermont Council on the Arts, New England Foundation for the Arts

and Meet the Composer, which frequently provide funding grants for sponsors.
